Oratory Hunger

Mario_cuomo_2 Why is Obama beating Hillary?

Where did he come from? Why are people who've never voted before voting for him?

What's the deal?

Cut from an Obama victory speech to Bush talking about Fidel's resignation. Or bailing out the recession. Or anything. What's the difference? Bush cant speak.King

Americans are starving for the dream, for some hope, yes, for someone who can speak to them. Forget the politics. Its been years since we turned on the TV, radio, YouTube, or streamed from the Internet and heard a voice  speak to us.

We've had almost 8 years of broken, guttural meanderings, and meanwhile, America meanders. Hearing Obama, its like our ears have been turned off all these years, and something just turned them on.

Jfk I'm not taking sides here. Listening to Hillary explain why she voted for the war not knowing the outcome, but had she known..., listening to McCain say, 'My friend's in his aging voice, I am going to sleep again, meandering in my living room. America will always need a powerful, meaningful speaker, humanity does. Take this away for any length of years, and we will be back with a vengence.

Who pays for our Spy Satellites that never work?

Who pays to shoot them down?

There is another war its unpatriotic to mention, the Financial War. American's in this patriotic age should keep quiet as marauding shark salesmen patrolling our Industrial Military that has this complex get billions of our taxed dollars to sell us spy rockets to fly into space and then shoot down because they were lemons to start with.

What's the point of protecting America with Lemons we have to spend more billions to shoot down?

What's the point of shooting up billions and billions of dollars when we don't care about our kids being able to get medicine or see a doctor? When we don't care about sending our bigger kids into war with no protection? When we don't care about taking care of what's left of them when they return from war?

There is a big, spoiled fat rich kid sitting on the heart of America, shooting rockets, buying more, and laughing his arse off.

Military designation: US 193. US 193 satellite  launched December 2006. US 193 lost power and its central computer failed almost instantly afterward, rendering its classified billions of dollar investment useless and a complete waste of America's time and resources. US 193 carried a sophisticated and secret imaging sensor that is completely useless unless the bad guys get it. Then its useful for them.

Why Grateful Web on TownHall?

Yes, I am fully aware Grateful Web's founder, Barney Moran, is quoted on the first page of TownHall's Letters to the editor. Yes I know it’s in their just released February 2008 Magazine version of their famous conservative blog community where Grateful Web has a voice.

I'm proud of it. Why?  There is something I dislike much more then someone's views disagreeing with mine: Censorship. Townhall has founded the perfect open forum vehicle for all voices to be heard. Sure its founded by conservatives who seek to find ideas and a common purpose for the movement. But, what is wrong with that, even if you disagree with their views?

Who's  side am I on? The side that gets things done instead of yelling. It's in the big fat American middle, where every day people are trying to work hard and carve out a life for themselves and their families.

Liberal and Progressive movements can take a pointer from TownHall, and remember the American way is for all voices to be heard.

2 Blue

2blue    I got to play the Game of Life last night with my 7 year old. As we started out, and I got to the STOP: GET MARRIED space, I went for the pink peg to add to my car, and STOPPED.

Why not use this little space in this Game of Life to bridge a discussion on homosexual lifestyle? "Can I be two men?" I asked her. "Sure" she replied, "My friend at school has two moms. One is 'Mom'. and one is 'Momma.'

It seems I was bridging to to myself, my seven year old had been down this life course. "What will you pick?" I asked her. "Hmmm", she said, initially going for another pink for her car, but then considering. "I will close my eyes and pick", she said, and got a blue peg to join her pink one, totally at random. "I like that", she said, "You know I have Nedda." Nedda is a boy from the Netherlands she is friends with.

That was it for this topic that game. We had lots of other Life issues to deal with, car accidents, insurance, buying a home. 'How', I wondered as our two cars inched farther down the game of life, 'Do other parents, if they do, bridge the issue of sexuality to their kids?' Some I fear may with disdain for same sex couples, and how sad for the next generation if they are exposed to old hatred and fears. Not discussing does not seem a healthy alternative either, its here, as it ever has been, as long as we have been human. Unless your pegged in Iran, where they have no Homosexuals.

Grateful Web Democratic Party Endorsement: Obama

SpydyeforobamaGrateful Web's choice of Obama for Democratic nominee to run for president of America is not an endorsement against a woman president.

Hillary is not a woman. Hillary has become a female old white boy. The years in politics have taken their toll on Hillary,  stripped away the woman. Hillary is a man, dressed as a woman. The victory of having a woman running America would remain hollow, for all a woman could bring to the presidency was taken from Hillary in her years of struggle against the formidable interests who truly run America. For this, we forgive Hillary.

Still, SpyDye understands for the old guard, War remains an option before last resort. Believing America can bully its way with no regard to our limited resources, remains an option to fuel the industrial/military complex pulling the strings behind America's status quo politics. Bully our way against science and reality to keep fueling crippled and incompetent  oil based transportation interests.

The option America and the world needs is forceful reason and intelligent design. Not by a deity, by us. Obama is young, and still believes in these things. Will Obama be crushed by the private interests who still run America? It is his and our destiny to find out.

Amy Cant Make France, People

Amy Whitehouse can't make her gig this Saturday, 1/25, in France, where a rouge trader for the French bank Societe Generale blew an American equivalent of 7.2 billion on Thursday in fraud trading no one caught. Amy's going into rehab, and so am I, since her story tops the news while the 7.2 billion lays buried in the back pages of every major media outlet.

Amy's sure as heck not going to feed any hungry poor people while she blithers through this, but imagine what 7.2 billion could feed. Imagine a world where news was rooted in its effect on all people, not the effect on some people.

If I ran the Democratic party, my first dictum would be they discuss ALL congressional bills in Iraqi War Dollar percentages. They have done this at times, I'd make it mandatory money speak.

The current bill moving through Congress to fuel spending against an impending recession and provide checks to the middle and lower class? I'd have all Democrats speak in terms of "One Half Day in Iraq", "One trip to the latrine by an American Soldier", "One Medical Transport to Germany of an American who lost his brains from a roadside bomb" speak. Exchange every penny Americans pay in taxes into what we are outlaying in Iraq. Dollar for Dollar. Penny for penny.

If implemented, you would be joining me and Amy in rehab, I said, "No, No, No."

Whats in a Name? Maybe Everything.

What’s conservative hatred of Hillary to do now she’s UnderDog? Her name on many conservative blogs is a curse word, have you noticed?

Hillary's loss in Iowa yesterday by a large margin makes her, for the first time, Underdog. How will this translate in conservative attacks on her? There are many posts today in the political arena on Iowa, too many to digest or summarize so soon. If Hillary stays a strong 2nd or 3rd up until the final selection of the Democratic nominee, and the Right sticks with just pulverizing Hillary, the Right may  lay the groundwork for a shining, untouched Obama or Edwards for the undecided middle electorate of American voters.

How will the conservative movement take on Obama? Very tricky stuff. The safe track is attack Obama's short resume, his naiveté. But Obama uses his newness to the political scene as a badge, and if this type of attack by the Right does not work, things will get nasty. Remember with blogging now a large force in politics, there is NO CONTROL OVER MESSAGE. This has been up to now conservative’s big advantage. Keep to message. Short and powerful. The Left never stuck to any message. The American Left is a hodgepodge of many interests; the American Right’s interests can be listed on one hand.

Then finally, John Edwards. Like Kennedy, and unlike. Good looking, rich and articulate, yet Edwards is focused on the plight of the middle class and poor. Kennedy spoke to us in broad strokes and did not play the division card. Kennedy spoke to every American, Edwards is decidedly the enemy of the rich and powerful. Class struggle it seems in Iowa, is still more interesting then Hillary Clinton, by 1%. Attacking Edwards will be much easier, old school politics for the Right.

And then there’s Huckabee. What a wonderful last name. Makes your tongue and lips jump around. And Obama. These last names are not for lazy tongues. Both way better then “Bush” or "Biden." Whatever the name, add ‘Recession’ to the 2008 political stew and the Republican Party is sunk. China warns us not to lower interest rates. Wall Street and the White House demand it. Greenspan is looking like the Cheshire Cat about right now, isn't he?

Stay tuned,

A day that lives in infamy, a leader who lives in our hearts

Thank you brave men and women, both lost on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, those who have passed on since, and those very few who remain alive today, for your service on that Black, yet proud day in America's short rich history on earth.

Like a deer in headlights, I stop dead in my tracks anytime I hear Franklin D. Roosevelt's impassioned "December 7th, 1941" speech. It is one of a handful of speeches to have this effect on me.  It stands with Churchill's 'Never Surrender, King's 'Have a Dream' and Kennedy's 'Ask Not' speeches. Perhaps if we only had audio of Lincoln's Gettysburg too...

The importance and impact of the event at Pearl Harbor and Roosevelt's from the gut address to Americans can never, ever be understated. All who know and feel the power of the moment and speech, the lucky Americans still alive who remember standing by a radio or loudspeaker, shoulder to shoulder with their countrymen, the generations following who hear and understand some shade of the feeling up and down their spine as Roosevelt recounts and in plain words describes the sneak attack on a young and fiercely free populous in what was becoming the superpower of the world. The social net Roosevelt crafted at the same time, catching America's week and feeble poor elderly, orphaned & disabled, the same net people who call themselves 'religious' want stripped away so only the wealthy can survive. What a sad hypocritical joke these 'righteous' truly are.

And of course, the impact of the outcome can never be understated. All of these events stand as towering pillars overshadowing what we as American's allow our government to do with the might we inherited from the moral and strategic victory of WWII. The events shape our goals even now. However terribly planned, executed, or wrongly intelligenced, the real truth is America wants Iraq to be the Japan of the Middle East. A beacon of freedom and industry leading a politically impoverished region into a free future. If we only had the leaders America once had.

We hate the bad guys more than we respect our law.

As Musharraf closes his book deal, rounds up Political Foes and gets a check for a few more billion from the United States Treasury  to keep things lubricated, it’s time again to admit to our American Selves the truth: We hate the bad guys more then we respect our own laws.

This is a simple honest step. The bad guys have so shaken our judicial resolve. Though repugnant, we can’t really decide if water boarding is illegal. We can’t really decide anything, and as Bush Senor advised, we must work with the repugnant to fight the repugnant. And on Sunday, we can again be comforted we are not, ourselves, repugnant.

It is the same argument repeated the same way, for the same tug at our heartstrings, for the same results. And they will be the same, and the enemy will continue to exist and prosper, as is the real plan, as we sow these seeds of discontent and injustice to ‘protect’ ourselves.

When we destroy justice to protect ourselves, we promise our children a continuum of discourse and fighting.  Maybe, this is what we really want. “Small, little lies” as the Dali Lama recently said, to just keep the embers of hate alive enough to generate profit and status quo.

Hatred Hunger

One of the most successful things to happen to you at your job as a political content creator or candidate, is hatred from others.

The more people hate you, the more successful you are.  The amount of hatred created is equal and opposite to the success it generates. As  hatred level grows, the people who hate the side that hates you, love you.

Nowhere is this more intuitive then blogs. Blogs demonstrate awards on their page one for being the most hated by the other side. Its a badge of honor. Savvy political pundits LOVE hatred. Hatred sells books and fills bank accounts. Hatred buys you a beer.

Blogs seeking middle ground, common solutions, the best ideas are choked off by the weeds of hatred as site hit count and buzz are more important then solving issues.

Hatred Hunger is not new. Hatred has been a tool of humans since the opposable thumb. Do blogs feed the current frenzy of hatred, or are blogs a reflection of a current social wave?

Grateful Web on Town Hall

As publisher of Grateful Web [1995], I am was Liberal. However, as years pass, I realize more and more how critical finding common ground is to get anything done.  Now I check the Independent box and look for solutions and not our differences.

I am very impressed with Town Hall and the open forum. I find more and more relevant content from thinking conservatives here. I plan to post on Grateful Web's town hall blog commentary to  engage thinking conservatives, and to enlighten liberal leaners to find the best conservative thinkers for finding common ground.
